With just 37 days until Christmas, The Axewoods Elves, headed by chief Elf Dil, were hard at work last week preparing the reindeer for their next expedition. Not for their epic round the world trip on the evening of 24th December, but for an equally epic event on 25th November with the local Beavers.

We’re joining one of our local Beaver groups (Scouts not animals!) later this month, for a practical reindeer building workshop, using locally sourced materials including antlers made from twigs found by the children themselves in their gardens, woodland and local countryside.

Sustainability and carbon footprint are always at the forefront of our thinking. With Christmas decorations often shipped across the world and made from plastics and non-recyclable materials, we are proud to be making these from silver birch and hazel, which has come from local woodland as part of good woodland management.

Come back again soon to see the Beavers at work and their reindeer herd.
